Common XBox 360 Problems

Very likely you already know that the Xbox 360 is one of the best video game consoles to ever be released to the gaming world.  If we look its performance, the Xbox 360 glows above the competition. From the unbelievable gaming experience it offers, to the impressive graphics, this game system can impress even the most demanding players.
But, while the Xbox 360 certainly is stunning, there are some common issues affiliated with it.

By understanding the problems that are common problem of Xbox 360 players, you can realize what you are dealing with if something goes wrong, and also more importantly, resolve how and if the problem can be fixed. Many of the hardware troubles that may happen with the Xbox 360 include the famed red light problem, and DVD drive problems.Normally, there are three basic types of LED problems that that may happen to your Xbox 360.

If a green LED is displayed, you can be sure system is operating properly. If you encounter any red lights, then you’ll know your Xbox 360 is encountering a problem.

If one read light is on it is an E74 error; if there is two red lights error it indicates that the unit has overheated and if there are 3 red lights it means general hardware failure. Those problems that are experienced with the Xbox 360 are displayed as red lights on the power button when you are starting your console. If 1 red light is on, than you’ll probably see an error message on the screen.  This 1 red light error indicates an E74 problem, and that means that the scaler chip of Xbox is burned out.

The scaler chip is the thing that is giving the Xbox 360 its brilliant graphics.  If you are experiencing this fault, you need to phone the support center of yours Xbox 360 to report it. Chances are that you can send your unit to be repaired.

If you are dealing with 2 red lights displayed, then this indicates that your unit is too hot. You can resolve this problem by shutting down the video game console, and let it cool off for a while. You need to try to avoid overheating when you use it next time, as this could eventually lead to hardware failure or the all too common RROD, also famous as the 3 red lights error.   

If your console is overheating, you should be cleaning it to take off the dust from the Xbox. Also, make sure to use Xbox unit out in the open area with adequate airing.

If you experience the 3 red light on, this shows a difficult issue with your Xbox 360.  This issue tells you that your Xbox 360 has had a general hardware problem, and you should send it to Microsoft for repair.

You might get 4 red lights. That’s typically nothing to be concerned with, since it might simply be that the wire isn’t properly attached. Check the connector and you will probably resolve the issue.

If you get the problem of DVD drive error, or if the console is unable to read the DVD that is also caused by overheating.  If you experience this problem, you will need to send the console to Microsoft to be fixed.
